After the dance program; things got a bit crazy. They were doing the Cupid Shuffle here. Not sure what happened to my sound or why this video is super fast.
Cowboy Slade for the Go Texan Day celebration at preschool.
Slade goes to preschool at First United Methodist's School For the Little Children. This is his first week of school and he loves it! Today was Go Texan Day. They celebrated by having a trail ride, painting bandannas and made their own trail mix. He had a blast!

Living Wax Museum

3rd grade presents a Living Wax Museum every year in honor of Black History Month. They are to choose a famous African American to showcase. Gavin chose Dizzy Gillespie. They do the research and write their paper in class. Then present their memorized research for the class. Gavin found in his research that he really likes jazz music. His favorite Dizzy Gillespie song is, 'And Then She Stopped' he played it for his class after his presentation. The Living Wax Museum is when all the 3rd graders become the famous African American that they researched. They all sat at tables in the dining hall and waited for someone to put a token in their token boxes then became their character and gave their speech. They were to dress the part as well. Parents and friends were invited to see the Living Wax Museum so we went around to each child putting tokens in their box then watched them come alive. (Gavin is holding his token box in the above pic.) It was well done and the kids did awesome! I met Dizzy Gillespie, Booker T. Washington, Serena Williams, Oprah Winfrey, Althea Gibson and Lebron James. The 2nd graders were in attendance also so they could have a preview of what they will take part in next year.
